Eligibility Requirements for In-Home Occupational Therapy
It is not required that a patient be recently discharged from a hospital to qualify for in-home occupational therapy. However, it must be ordered by a doctor. Other requirements include:
- Medical condition that requires the skill of a licensed professional on an intermittent, part-time basis
- Be under the continuous care of a doctor who will work with the home healthcare service provider
- Be homebound, as required and defined by Medicare and some insurance policies
